Postgraduate in Derry (Londonderry)
The Ulster University's Magee campus ranks second in the UK for its postgraduate courses in Celtic studies and is well known for its further study programmes in human rights law. Ulster's Coleraine campus, situated about 30 miles away, has an excellent humanities department and is renowned for its postgraduate degrees in food science, and communication, culture and media studies.
Finding a job in Derry after postgraduate study
Derry/Londonderry is an up-and-coming city which is becoming increasingly popular with graduates. Famed in the past for its textile industry, Derry is now especially well known for its IT development and several large companies, for instance Seagate and DuPont, have offices in the city. There is a significant engineering market with potential graduate opportunities in global companies (such as Raytheon Systems Ltd) and local companies (such as Translink).
The Magee campus of Ulster University is situated in Derry/Londonderry and the North West Regional College has three campuses in the city and surrounding area – good news for aspiring teachers.
