Security Studies (Research Training pathway)

Students on this programme will explore the inter-relationship between global processes and specific security dynamics in both the developing and developed world. Some of the prominent topics covered include: securitisation theory; the Copenhagen school; emancipation; the ethics of security; discourse and identity; practices of (in)security; feminist theorising about security; the Paris school.

Entry requirements

Minimum of a good 2.2 Honours (at least 56.5 per cent).

Assessment methods

Assessment will be through a combination of examinations, project work, short reports, essays and dissertation. It may, depending on the modules chosen, include seminar presentations, review essays and literature searches.
