A 2.1 Honours degree or its equivalent in a subject relevant to the intended area of research; application form with letter explaining reasons for enrolling on the course. This should include an outline of proposed creative work and touch on relevant literary influences; plus a submission of creative work, written during the past 3 years, e.g.: 5 or 6 poems of not more than 40 lines each; 2 prose pieces of 1,500 to 2,000 words each; 1 prose passage of 3,000 to 4,000 words in total; IELTS 7.5 (for non UK students only).
