Sound Engineering

This programme focuses on developing knowledge and techniques for the creative audio industries, as well as innovative design in all aspects of audio engineering. Examples of our work include the development of quantitative methods for accurate, repeatable percussion instrument tuning. Other recent projects have included research into the psychoacoustic perception of loudness in commercial music releases, development of networked data management systems for interview recording and development of ultrasonic systems for pest control.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally be required to hold a 1st or upper 2nd Class Honours degree from a university, or any other institution of higher education in the UK with degree-awarding powers. Alternatively, a qualification regarded by Anglia Ruskin as equivalent to a 1st or upper 2nd Class Honours degree may be accepted. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
