Arts University Bournemouth
This course offers students exemption from the part 2 (ARB/RIBA) professional examination in architecture on their route to becoming registered architects; the course asks students to build upon their academic and practical experience and provides a curriculum and an environment which support the development of critical and speculative practices, including the questioning of preconceptions about the discipline.
A good Honours degree in architecture (normally 2.1 or above) with part 1 of the professional qualification recognised by the ARB and RIBA, plus normally 1 year in an architectural practice following part 1 qualification.
Core units: immediate architectural interventions; urban strategies; historiography; research methodologies; building responses and responsibilities; ecological strategies; management practice and law; thesis project.
A limited number of bursaries are made available and are judged on demonstrable past achievement (either certificated or through work experience); capacity to achieve Master's standard; evidence of commitment; the statement of intent.
