The programme covers core areas of international business, strategic management and business economics. The wide range of elective modules offered in addition enables students to develop skills in a specific business function linked to international business (finance, marketing, or operations management) or pursue other related areas such as entrepreneurial strategies and business sustainability.
A good UK Honours degree (minimum lower 2nd Class) or equivalent overseas degree recognised by Aston University; 2 professional references (at least 1 must be from an academic referee); a completed application form (if sufficient evidence of analytical and quantitative skills is not recieved within the application a minimum GMAT score of 550 may be requested to support the application); for international students: an official academic transcript of grades (in English); International students who have not completed their full degree in a native English speaking country also need to satisfy the English language requirements with 1 of the following: IELTS: score of 6.5 overall, with a minimum score of 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in listening and reading; TOEFL (Internet based test) score of 100 overall, with a minimum score of 23 in writing and speaking and 22 in listening and reading; Pearson Academic score of 61 overall with a minimum of 61 in all 4 sections.

Optional modules: international finance; accounting for non-financial managers; business finance; strategy, change and leadership; strategic business sustainability; intellectual property strategy and management; marketing management; international marketing management; international operations; operations management; international business strategy; people and world organisations; entrepreneurial strategies; entrepreneurship and innovation in emerging economies; strategic global outsourcing and offshoring; global ethics and human rights responsibilities in business; public policy for social responsibility and sustainable development.
Modules are assessed through a mixture of examinations and coursework plus a substantial piece of research leading to the completion of a dissertation.
