Supply Chain Management

Students study: strategic decision-making/policy and practice in the context of the business environment locally, nationally and internationally; the contribution of wider aspects of business areas, to be able to integrate supply chain strategy/policy and practice with business and organisational strategy; theoretical and applied perspectives of supply chain management and logistics.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent professional qualification; qualifications from outside the UK (or a combination of qualifications and experience) also considered; international students whose native language is not English also need to demonstrate English language ability: a TOEFL score of at least 100 (internet-based) with a minimum score of 23 in writing and speaking, and a minimum score of 20 in reading and listening; an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no less than 6.5 in writing and speaking, and no less than 6.0 in listening and reading; Pearson Academic score of 61 overall with a minimum score of 59 in each area.

Course modules

Modules include: simulation for managerial decision making; operations management; managing multi-organisational enterprises and enterprise systems; strategic finance; strategic management; project management; research methods; supply management; logistics and transportation; major project. .

Assessment methods

Assessment methods are designed to meet the particular requirements of each module. These methods vary from 100 per cent examination to 100 per cent continuous assessment. Currently the balance for the taught element of the programme is approximately 65 per cent examination and 35 per cent continuous assessment. The major project accounts for 60 of the 180 credits required for successful completion of the degree.
