Industrial Enterprise Management

The course covers the knowledge and understanding of the principles underlying the strategic management of businesses; students study the techniques required to develop their entrepreneurial skills.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a good UK Honours Degree; 2 years experience in an appropriate engineering post is an advantage; international students whose native language is not English also need to demonstrate English language ability: a TOEFL score of at least 100 (internet-based) with a minimum score of 23 in speaking, 22 in reading and 21 in writing and listening; an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each band; Pearson Academic score of 61 overall with a minimum score of 59 in each area.

Course modules

Core modules: entrepreneurial strategies; strategic finance; strategic management; project management; management of change; human resource management; strategic marketing; research methods; corporate social responsibility; management in engineering enterprises; logistics and transportation; major project.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods are designed to meet the particular requirements of each module; these methods vary from 100 per cent examination to 100 per cent continuous assessment; currently the balance for the taught element of the programme is approximately 65 per cent examination and 35 per cent continuous assessment.
