Students study requirements analysis and specification; applicants create and evaluate software architecture and design solutions, develop dependable software units and how to verify software systems and make informed decisions in the management of software projects.
BSc Honours in computer science or an alternative degree with substantial computing content with atleast a lower 2nd Class Honours (or equivalent); international students whose native language is not English also need to demonstrate English language ability: a TOEFL score of at least 100 (internet-based) with a minimum score of 23 in speaking, 22 in reading and 21 in writing and listening; an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each band; Pearson Academic score of 61 overall with a minimum score of 59 in each area.
Modules include: professional skills in computing; software process management; requirements engineering; software architecture; reliability in software engineering; information security; major project. Optional modules: interactive design; advanced human computer interaction; diploma project.
Written examinations, continuous assessment through coursework and oral examination of major project.
