Our MSc Human Resource Management is your stepping stone to a rewarding and fulfilling career. This CIPD accredited course will guide you through all aspects of people management. You'll learn key HR and business theory and develop the practical skills needed for specialist HR roles. You'll study fascinating subject areas, including Organisational Behaviour, which considers what motivates different people. Then Employment Law explores the legislation businesses must adhere to, whilst Learning and Development looks at how organisations ensure their people have the skills to give them the competitive advantage. Given this breadth of knowledge, you'll develop a well-rounded understanding of HRM theory and how to practically apply it. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), this course will open doors and enhance your career prospects offers. Graduates of this degree have the knowledge required to become a Chartered Member of the CIPD, an essential requirement for progression in a HR career. Our students have been successful in securing positions with prestigious, international companies and at leading consultancy firms. We benefit from strong partnerships and close links to business and industry, both in the UK and internationally. With our focus on doing business, you'll have many opportunities to gain practical work experience as part of your programme. You'll be able to undertake work placements lasting up to one-year and Aston Business Clinic gives you the chance to support small businesses and start-ups with consultancy projects. By gaining work experience whilst you study with us, this will fast-track your pathway to CIPD Chartered Member status. You can choose to study this course as part of our double degree programme.  Part time studying option also available. This course enables you to gain Associate membership of the CIPD after successfully completing the course. If there is sufficient demand from students you may also be offered a chance to undertake Occupational Test User (OTU) training and gain a certificate which is accredited qualification by the British Psychological Society (BPS) in psychological testing. The Professional Development Programme (PDP) is an integrated module which runs throughout the course and focuses on your professional development and employability, giving you the opportunity to identify, develop and apply the key skills you gain throughout the year. You'll have the opportunity to develop your academic skills, build a portfolio of professional business skills, or study abroad at one of our international partners, undertake an internship placement in the UK, or overseas, or get involved in a global business challenge simulation. Entry requirements

MSc: One of the following: A good UK honours degree (minimum lower second class) Equivalent overseas degree recognised by Aston University. As well as: Two professional references - at least one must be from an academic referee. An official academic transcript of your university grades to date. For International students: An official academic transcript, with an official English translation, of your university grades to date. Students whose native language is not English will also need to satisfy our English Language requirements. Assessment methods

What makes us stand out from other universities is our focus on the practical application of course material. You'll be taught various theories and perspectives relating to HRM, but you'll also spend a large proportion of your time applying these to real-life or simulated business scenarios. This will enhance your understanding and make you better equipped for skilled, graduate roles. Our adaptable teaching staff deliver this course in a way that suits all learning styles. This means we use a range of teaching methods, from lectures and tutorials to practical workshops and group work. All sessions are delivered in an open and supportive atmosphere, helping you to get the most out of your studies. We use a variety of assessment methods as part of this course. There's a mix of exams, coursework, presentations and group work. For our assessments we use real or fictitious business situations and ask you to apply the knowledge you have learnt to solve a business issue. These practical assessments help to prepare you to take on specific tasks in a work environment. Our online learning platform will also support you with your studies. It has all the digital resources you need when revising, including lecture slides, access e-books and online journals, as well as video recordings of teaching sessions.
