Year 1; the committee will have produced a written document for the student's file, outlining work which the student is expected to have completed by the end of the year such i.e. a review of the literature on their chosen topic, and a report on their pilot study; the document will include recommendations for any linguistics or research training modules to be attended; students must take 30 credits from the graduate programme; year 2; students complete a first draft of their dissertation; year 3; the completed thesis (usually between 80,000 and 100,000 words) is submitted.

Entry requirements

Good Honours degree; for applicants who do not speak English as the native language: IELTS with a score of 6.5 in all 4 components or a TOEFL examination with a score of 600.
