Translation Studies (by practice)

Supervision on the following language specialisms: Welsh, Italian, German, Spanish, Galician, French, Catalan and Chinese (Mandarin). Areas of specific expertise include: Welsh translation studies; translation and Chinese studies; translation and ideology; translation pedagogy; corpus-aided discourse analysis; critical theory in translation; gender studies and translation; translation and creative writing.

Entry requirements

1st Class or a good 2nd Class degree in modern languages, though concessions may be made on an individual basis for students from abroad or for practicing translators who have already published a substantial body of work; students whose 1st language is not English are expected to have achieved a TOEFL score of at least 600, with a TWE (written score) of 4; or an IELTS score of at least 7.

The School offers international scholarships as well as fee remission scholarships for MA/PhD study each year.
