Health and Social Care Leadership

This course deals with leading and managing service improvements; service level innovation and change; managing quality; ensuring effective and legal frameworks for governance (organisational assurance) and professional accountability.

Entry requirements

A 2.2 Honours degree in a relevant subject e.g. nursing, midwifery, occupational/speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, medicine/dentistry, psychology, radiography. English language standard: IELTS score of 6.5 with no individual score less than 6.0 (or equivalent). Working professionals with non-graduate qualifications will be considered on an individual basis by the School.

Course modules

Compulsory modules: realising service improvement; work-based learning; leadership, quality, innovation and change; research methods or e-research methods; dissertation; supervised research project; plus optional modules; managing and developing people; accountability in health and social care; organisational behaviour in health and social care organisations.

Assessment methods

Dissertation.
