The course is suitable for applicants who would like to develop their professional and academic skills, but do not intend to pursue a research career in psychology.
This course consists of taught and research components that run concurrently. The taught component comprises the following modules: compulsory modules: research methods skills; professional skills development; dissertation; plus optional modules: psychology in education; psychosis: a psychological perspective; introduction to neuroimaging; biological bases of psychological disorders; disorders of neuropsychological relevance; methods in cognition and brain research; bilingualism: research and methods; clinical neuropsychology; motivation, action and health; practical programming for psychologists; consumer psychology: theory; behaviour change.
Assessment methods include written examinations, essays, blogs, oral presentations and a research thesis.
