This degree equips students with confidence and competence in the latest research skills and allow them to apply for further research training (PhD) programs or to directly apply for research positions in universities or research institutes.

Entry requirements

A 2.2 Honours degree in a relevant scientific discipline; alternatively a qualification or experience which is acceptable as equivalent. For non-native English speakers there are additional requirements: IELTS 6.0 (with no element below 5.5).

Course modules

There are 2 parts to the course: the 1st part consists of introductory generic skills such as literature searching, health and safety aspects, grant proposal writing and an introduction to statistical manipulation of data (40 credits), while the 2nd part is the research project itself (120 credits).
