Foundations of Clinical Neuropsychology
Provides students with a knowledge base as a basis for research, clinical training, or professional practice in this area; taught and research components run concurrently.
MSc: British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited undergraduate Honours degree or a conversion degree in psychology, usually with a 2.1 or equivalent, Applicants with degrees of an equivalent standard in a closely related discipline, including qualified health professionals (e.g. clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists) who have relevant clinical experience, will also be considered. IELTS: 6.5 (with no element below 6.0) is required.
Modules include: research proposal 1; issues in qualitative and quantitative analysis; clinical neuropsychology; behavioural neurology; research proposal 2; advanced statistics; communicating research in psychology; neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation; research thesis.
Assessment methods include written examinations, essays, oral presentations and the research thesis.
The School of Psychology offers a limited number of studentships in return for performing teaching assistant duties; and can also advise on alternative funding sources.
