Sport and Exercise Psychology
The course focuses on developing a student's scientific understanding of the human mind, behaviour and experience, and of the complex interactions between these and the domain of sport and exercise; it has been designed to be flexible and relevant to the student's individual needs and interests, with a strong emphasis on the application of theory to professional practice.
MSc: Only applicants with graduate basis for chartered membership (GBC) are eligible; applicants must have completed a BPS accredited undergraduate degree; students who achieve an IELTS score of 6.5 or above and 6.0 for writing are eligible for direct entry to the course; applicants who achieve 6.0 may be required to attend an English language course at Bangor university, in the summer preceding their course.
Modules include: research skills; independent study (a one to one supervised programme of work leading to the development of the proposal for the research project); supervised experience; sport psychology and exercise psychology, and choose 1 optional module from rehabilitation of the injured athlete or effective coaching.
All applicants to our Master's programmes are eligible to apply for bursaries and assistantships from the school, plus funding may also be available from the university.
