The aim of the programme is to provide graduates with a range of management knowledge and skills, together with a thorough foundation in information management, information technology, and its commercial applications; the programme includes topical case studies, and reflects contemporary developments within the sector.
MBA: A 2.2 Honours degree in a relevant subject, e.g. business or science from a university, or a similar qualification from any other institution is required. Alternatively, possession of a suitable professional qualification and relevant practical experience may also be accepted. In general, however, applicants are judged on their individual merits and age, work experience and other factors are also considered. Whilst work experience is desirable, it is not essential. If the native language is not English, students must provide satisfactory evidence that they have an adequate knowledge and understanding of written and spoken English. IELTS: 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) and Internet-based TOEFL test scores of no less than 75 is required.
Compulsory modules: organisations and people; strategic management; management research; web technologies; finance for managers; databases; technologies for internet systems; information systems; students must complete part 2 by selecting 2 projects from the applied business projects component of the advanced taught programme of summer study, and by writing a computing project. For the advanced taught programme students will choose 4 applied business projects from a list which currently includes the following titles: e-business and value chain; human resource management; international business; investment and private banking; operations management; business planning.
