Banking and Finance (Chartered Banker)
This course enables individuals to gain the dual award of an MBA and Chartered Banker status; applicants with an approved professional banking qualification may be admitted to the accelerated Chartered Banker MBA route; this means that applicants may be exempted from some modules. The course takes 12-60 months to complete, depending on route. There are two intakes per year in April and October. Please visit the Chartered Banker MBA webpage for information.
MA: A 2.2 or higher single or joint Honours degree in a related subject is required, or equivalent overseas qualification and grade. Alternatively, possession of a suitable professional qualification and practical experience may also be accepted. Candidates without a relevant degree or professional qualification should have a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience. English language requirement: IELTS: 6.0 (with no element below 5.5), Pearson PTE: a score of 56 (with no element lower than 51), Cambridge English Test Advanced: 169 (with no element lower than 162). It may be necessary for applicants falling short of this minimum standard to attend an intensive English Language course before registering for the academic programme.
Compulsory modules: research methods; international financial management; international banking; credit and lending; international financial markets; financial ethics and regulation; bank financial management (MA only); financial econometrics (MSc only).
