Mindfulness Based Approaches (Train to be a Mindfulness Teacher)
Successful students gain the certificate of mindfulness teacher competence. Applicants take 4 teacher training modules sequentially, and the research module alongside any of the 4 teacher training modules. There will be one year when applicants are doing 2 modules at the same time. The first 3 teaching modules, and the research module are delivered over 5 weekends a year from Bangor, and the teaching days for the assessed teaching practice (in year 4) are given during a single TTR2 retreat. Please note, if you wish to take this route please register for a Post-graduate Diploma, and then you can transfer the credits over to the Masters (thus sacrificing the Diploma) if you wish to do the research and thesis modules.
MA: A 2.2 Honours degree or recognised equivalent qualification, and a professional background with at least 5 years professional experience. We prioritise students with personal experience of mindfulness practice in the form taught in MBAs. IELTS: 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) is required.
Year 1: foundation; year 2; teaching 1; year 3; teaching 2; year 4; assessed teaching practice; year 5; thesis module; research module (the 1 year research module is compulsory if you wish to do a Master's, the module can be taken alongside any module and it must be before taking the thesis module. Applicants decide which year to take it during the 4 years.
