This programme builds on previous experience and background, expanding students' professional arts knowledge, management skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and creative leadership skills.
Applicants normally have a good 1st degree (2.1 or above) in any academic subject. Applicants without a 1st degree may be considered if they can demonstrate considerable relevant experience; they may be asked to attend an interview. If English is not the 1st language then applicants need to provide evidence of proficiency in written and spoken English. A minimum language level of IELTS 6.5, or equivalent, is required. The British Council organises regular language tests in most countries.
Modules include: arts management in the 21st century; management in practice; research and writing for the arts, heritage and culture; supported placement; placement project or research project; heritage, museums and arts management: an international perspective.
On this course applicants are assessed by a variety of assessment methods that may include some or all of the following across the various modules on the course: reports on work-based assignments; research project reports; portfolios; reflective logs of evidence; reviews; proposal papers for projects, funding or events, business plans, or strategy documents; project progress reports; project evaluations; presentations.
