This course is for working writers; most scriptwriters work across several media, and this course reflects this; all the tutors are working writers; the course aims to produce writers who understand the structure and craft of drama, have a finished script they can use as a calling card, know the industry in all its variety, and can pitch and sell their work.
Modules include: dramatic structure; theatre and radio; professional skills; writing for the screen; final script.
Assessment is by coursework only. In the 1st 2 trimesters work is assessed as work in progress. The final submission will be examined on the script (60 per cent), the practical presentation (30 per cent) and the pitch (10 per cent).
