Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia)
This award is of particular relevance to student whose work involves vulnerable learners and they wish to develop the skills to support individuals with SpLD/Dyslexia within education or other appropriate contexts. The current international focus upon standards, literacy and the inclusion of vulnerable learners within mainstream educational institutions means that there is increasing pressure upon professionals to develop the skills to identify and support a range of specific learning needs in literacy and study skills across the curriculum. Through the professional practice element of the course students have the opportunity to apply to the BDA for their sought after International Approved Teacher Status (ATS) or Associate Membership (AMBDA) and Assessment Practising Certificate (APC).
