A first degree in any subject, plus A-level mathematics or equivalent, for example Birkbeck's Certificate of Higher Education in Mathematical Studies or the Open University modules Essential Mathematics 1 and Essential Mathematics 2. If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests.
You take 2 year-long modules, designed to give you a thorough grounding in mathematical and statistical methods as a basis for the postgraduate study of statistics.
Advanced Mathematical Methods;
Statistics: Theory and Practice.
Coursework makes up 20% of the assessment of both modules. The rest of the assessment is by examinations taken in the summer term.
