In this programme, you will have the opportunity to explore specialist management issues within the fields of human resource management, strategic management, marketing, and accounting and finance, along with a variety of options. This diploma can be taken as a stand-alone qualification (120 credits), can build on the Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits) and/or can be used to progress directly to the Master's degree. Fees for the Postgraduate Certificate and the Postgraduate Diploma are pro rata the Master's fee. Based in the School of Business, Economics and Informatics, the Department of Management is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the broad field of management. We have particular research strengths in international business and strategy, the management of innovation and entrepreneurship, human resource management, corporate governance, sport management and marketing, as well as financial management and accounting. We offer students of all ages and backgrounds a chance to study either part-time or full-time in our department and to gain an internationally recognised University of London qualification.
You complete 8 taught modules (totalling 120 credits). You take 5 compulsory modules and choose 3 option modules. You can only take either Research Methods in Management 1 or Marketing Research. If you wish to progress to a Master's qualification, you must take one of these 2 modules. Year 1 option modules (full-time and part-time): Accounting and Financial Management; Human Resource Strategies; Principles of Marketing; Principles of Organization and Management; Strategic Management (Postgraduate) . Year 2 option modules (full-time and part-time): Business in the European Union; Corporate Governance; Corporate Responsibility; Entrepreneurial Finance; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Innovation: Management and Policy; International Business and Economic Development; International Business Strategy; International Human Resource Management; International Marketing; Marketing Management; Marketing Research; Public Relations; Qualitative Research Methods; Research Methods in Management I; The Business Environment: International and Comparative Perspectives .
