If you are interested in increasing your knowledge of the arts sector, your project management skills and your understanding of arts education and marketing principles - or if you simply wish to have a creative and critical environment in which to develop your own project ideas - then this year-long, part-time programme is for you. If you are interested in further study, we offer an MA Arts Policy and Management, available by part-time or full-time study. Students who gain a distinction in the Graduate Diploma are guaranteed an interview for the MA programme.
You need to have successfully completed a level 4 course (or international equivalent), such as a CertHE or Foundation Degree in a relevant discipline, or to have a BA/BSc in another subject or relevant work experience. Accreditation for prior learning or experience may be considered, especially for applicants with an employment portfolio in arts management. Applicants will be assessed from their application form and by a short interview and written task. If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English: IELTS Academic Test score of 7.0, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests.
Compulsory modules: Arts management and arts policy in context; creative practice: developing visual and performing arts projects; understanding audiences: engagement, education and development.
The School of Arts offers a small number of bursaries.
