This course offers a conversion route into the professional discipline of landscape architecture for students with a 1st degree in a different subject. The course is accredited by the Landscape Institute (LI): the professional body for landscape architecture in the UK. Successful completion of this course, followed by the Postgraduate Diploma, makes students eligible for licentiate membership of the LI. The course helps students acquire a systematic understanding of the key aspects of landscape architecture.
Applicants need an Honours degree in an appropriate subject. If applicants possess such a qualification, this course is intended to form the 1st year of a conversion route to professional qualification in landscape architecture.
The course is designed around 4 modules which cover the key areas of landscape design required to study professional landscape architecture at postgraduate level: Histories and theories: landscape architecture; landscape technology; design studio; design process studio.
Assessment is through design studio work and coursework based on continuous assessment.
