On this programme, students explore the techniques of social media, consider the development and direction of social media as a creative industry, and contribute new research and knowledge to the field.
Applicants require a 1st degree or equivalent at 2.1, or above, or have considerable experience in a related field and be able to demonstrate outstanding ability and potential; applicants should have sound academic skills (research, writing, presentation), an interest in ideas and their application and some basic competence in information technology skills (word-processing, internet activities and so on).
Modules include: Social media as culture; enterprise; production lab or research methods; social media as practice; practical assessment portfolio or dissertation.
Assessments usually emphasise scholarly or professional practice through which the key learning objectives are tested; 3 weeks are set aside for assessment work.
