The course addresses the impact of social media channels and the new opportunities for brand/consumer interaction, the importance of marketing in attempting to influence societal and political change, and the development of new products and markets encouraged by growing recognition of the need for sustainable business and consumption.
Students may require an interview before being accepted onto the programme and are expected to possess 1 of the following: a UK Honours degree (minimum upper 2nd Class), it does not need to be a marketing discipline; an equivalent overseas degree recognised by Birmingham City University; a degree equivalent professional qualification recognised by Birmingham City University; international students whose native language is not English need an IELTS qualification of 7.0 across the board, or equivalent (e.g. TOEFL 600).
