Environmental Sustainability (Design and Construction)

This pathway explores some of the ways in which these ideas can be implemented. Because of the essence of this course students are encouraged to undertake a design project resulting in a portfolio of ideas rather than the research project offered by the other pathways.

Entry requirements

Candidates with a 1st degree are accepted, subject to standards. Candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds are considered but they must be numerate and IT literate. The range of suitable 1st degrees includes subjects such as planning, geography, construction, business, management, economics, engineering and the physical sciences. Candidates with other qualifications and suitable work-based experience are considered on a case by case basis.

Course modules

Modules include: dynamic natural environments; green design; sustainable design practice; law and environmental governance; sustainable development into practice; energy technologies; innovation in construction and design project or research project.

Assessment methods

A wide variety of assessment methods are employed to provide both a challenging and stimulating environment.
