Quantity Surveying

This course seeks to respond to a changing employment market and to the changing requirements of the construction industry both in the UK and global markets. We provide students with the knowledge and skills that will meet the challenges presented by change and innovation, and provide opportunities for cognate graduates from diverse backgrounds including international students, students with limited professional experience, as well as students looking for mid-career development in a quantity surveying specialist area.

Entry requirements

We would normally expect applicants to hold at least an upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline. Applicants also need to be proficient in written and spoken English as well as numerate and IT literate. We also consider other qualifications and suitable work based experience on an individual basis. Applicants may be asked to attend a selection interview.

Course modules

Modules include: construction law and contracts; business management; building information modelling and management; advanced quantification, people and organisation; innovation in construction; project management methods; cost management and dissertation.

Assessment methods

A wide variety of assessment methods are employed to provide both a challenging and stimulating experience and are tailored to the learning outcomes of each module.
