The course will develop student's critical, commercial and creative awareness of current developments in sports media including traditional press, broadcasting, social media, marketing, sponsorship and PR, as well as the integrated marketing activity surrounding and defining sports and brand communications.

Entry requirements

A UK Bachelor Honours degree, 2.2 or above or equivalent. If English is not an applicant's 1st language they will need IELTS 6.5 (Academic) or above.

Course modules

Modules include: sports media cultures; branding sport (media); management and marketing; media production and communication; project (sports specialism); work placement/research preparation; dissertation. Optional modules (choose 2): integrated sports communication (journalism, sponsorship and PR); sports events (from festival to mega-event); sports entertainment (digital rights management); sports principles and practice; consuming sport; politics; philosophy and economics of sport; sport tourism; media in transition.
