Advanced Practice

This part-time course is designed to develop the knowledge and understanding of health and social care professionals working to, or aspiring to be, advanced practitioners. This flexible course will allow you to develop your knowledge base from the perspective of your own work, whilst sharing and learning from your colleagues across the interprofessional team. You can choose from over 60 units to undertake a degree that is tailored to your professional development. It presents an opportunity for you to show your ability to critically evaluate your practice and make evidence-based judgements. You'll be able to further integrate new and existing skills in a practice setting while maintaining and developing high-quality healthcare in your current workplace.

Entry requirements

First degree or equivalent and be engaging in practice for a minimum of 20 hours per week. If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS 6.5 (Academic) or above.

Course modules

We've designed this course to enable busy health and social care practitioners to be able to study individual units allowing you to steadily work towards a postgraduate qualification, flexibly and at your own pace. Please see BU's website for individual unit options.
