Care of Older People

This course is aimed at those caring for older people in a care setting, reflecting local, national and international agendas. Each student's assignment work will focus on developing their practice. The aim is to improve service and care delivery for the growing population aged 65 years and over. The course can be accessed at degree or Master's level, with the assignment expectations different for each level. Study is part-time and units can also be accessed individually as part of our continuing professional development (CPD) flexible framework.

Entry requirements

MA

This course is designed for qualified health and social care professionals who have already studied to degree level and wish to expand their sphere of practice to include new elements within their professional role.

The normal requirements for embarking upon this course are Possession of a degree or equivalent professional qualification and current engagement in practice for normally a minimum of 20 hours per week.

If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence that you can understand English to a satisfactory level. English language requirements, for this course are normally IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component or equivalent.

PgDip

If you would like to complete the full Master's, you will complete the above units as well as two additional units: Preparing for your Service Improvement Project and Service Improvement Project.
