Health and Social Care
The course contains no formally assessed taught component although you will be expected to fully engage with the postgraduate researcher development framework, which includes research methodology training. The course may also be attractive to individuals who are working in higher education or in the public or private sector, wishing to undertake research and development activities. Your project will be developed in collaboration with our experienced academic members of university staff, who will provide you with specialist knowledge and supervisory input.
We would normally expect you to have an Honours degree at upper 2nd class (2.1) and/or an appropriate masters degree. Some supervisors may ask you for additional entry requirements such as relevant work experience, evidence of written work, or previous study of a particular subject. Entry requirements may vary so it is important to discuss your application in principle before submitting a formal application.
Assessment methods include a thesis of 15000-30000 words, a presentation, oral examination and viva voce.
