Applied Dementia Studies

The Msc Applied Dementia Studies takes an ecobiopsychosocial approach to dementia. Using blended learning, students from all walks of life, professions and disciplines can engage in a stimulating, high quality course which builds on theoretical underpinnings, policy and research evidence. Students will have the opportunity to apply these ideas to enhance the lives of people with dementia and those who care for them. This course will appeal to people from all backgrounds, professions and disciplines who wish to learn together to create a dementia friendly society. Academic staff who work in practice and conduct research will provide students with an excellent learning platform with up-to-date, relevant teaching practice.

Entry requirements


A Bachelor's Honours degree, 2.2 or above or equivalent in any subject area. If English is not an applicant's 1st language they will need IELTS 7.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component or equivalent.

Certificate: Understanding Dementia; Psychology of Dementia; Business and Dementia. Diploma: Living with Dementia; Dementia Friendly Society; Leading Dementia Care. Master's: Principles of Dementia Research; Researching Dementia.
