International Hospitality and Tourism Management
This course is intended to provide you with both an advanced understanding of the hospitality and tourism industry as well as a managerial perspective of how to run such operations; this course will provide the opportunity for you to identify and engage with selected areas of specialism within the hospitality industry such as consumer behaviour, marketing, international human resource management, revenue management and international market trends.
An Honours degree is normally required - 2:2 or above, or equivalent; relevant subjects: all subjects considered.
Year 1: tourism and hospitality principles and practice; managing organisations; business strategy and finance; hospitality operations management; issues in international hospitality and tourism management; dissertation. Choose 1 unit from the following options: aviation, tourism development and climate change; conference tourism; entrepreneurship; food and drink; food, culture and society; spatial design for retailers and restaurateurs; wildlife, nature and ecotourism; placement.
