Directing Film and Television
This course aims to create professionals who can understand and produce moving images best suited to the rapidly-changing industry. The growing fragmentation of channels, and convergence of media forms, provides new challenges and opportunities for those equipped to lead and shape the future of the media. The course develops students' ability to help them promote themselves and their projects for employment as a director, an author, a �content provider�.
A good Bachelor's degree, 2.1 Honours or above, in any subject. Applications are particularly welcomed from those with an undergraduate degree in Media Practice (e.g. Television Production, Video Production, Interactive Media Production, Scriptwriting, Music Design, Journalism, Advertising). Applications are also welcome from experienced professionals working within the media industry.
Modules include: Approaches to directing; narrative constructions; the director's voice; cross-platform practice; the masters production project; the masters research project.
