This course aim to create pertinent critical thinkers and practitioners in the subject area of digital effects who can work successfully at a postgraduate level.
Graduates with a 2.1 Honours degree or above from a related arts based discipline. Industrial experience, professional qualifications or diplomas deemed equivalent to a 2.1 Honours degree. Exceptionally well-qualified applicants from other non-art related disciplines may also be considered at the discretion of the Assessment Panel. Strong visual based portfolio and a digital self portrait required. Preferred Subjects include: photography, ceramic art, fashion design, multimedia art, visual architecture, film production, fine art, and existing CGI artists. Applications from non-art based backgrounds such as computer science, maths or engineering are welcome but a strong visual portfolio demonstrating clear artistic ability should be provided.
Modules include: Digital effects nucleus; digital effects tools; digital effects techniques; moving image theory; group project; personal inquiry; masters project; MA digital effects programme specific resources.
