Foundations of Clinical Psychology
The course is aimed at individuals who wish to acquire an in-depth knowledge of clinical psychology in order to enhance their application to training programmes to qualify as a clinical psychologist. In addition to the theoretical component of the programme, the 15-day placement experience allows the student to gain more than an insight into the working practice of clinical psychology. Two dissertations require the student to reflect on experience gained on placement and also to complete a thorough an critical literature review in the area of specialism.
2.1 classification in an undergraduate psychology degree. Those with less standard/traditional qualifications and relevant experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Modules include: Roots and range of psychological disorders; psychological therapy; advanced statistics; advanced research methods and statistics; placement experience and dissertation.
