International Business Law
The programme is aimed at lawyers who are or will practice in areas of the law, in the UK or elsewhere, that involve international business activity. The issues that the core module addresses are wider than, for example, the LLM (Commercial Law) although to reinforce and expand one�s knowledge of commercial law it is possible to take this module as an elective. The programme addresses particular areas of law that are necessarily important in being able to advise on cross border business activity.
A Law degree (minimum lower 2nd Class Honours); or a degree in law and another subject (minimum lower 2nd Class Honours); or a non-law degree (minimum lower 2nd Class Honours) and a pass in the GDL or CPE; or a non-law degree (minimum lower 2nd Class Honours) and appropriate/relevant professional experience. Non-graduates with appropriate professional experience will also be considered. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent qualification.

Optional modules include: advanced corporate law; business organisations� law; business tax law; Chinese business law; Chinese finance and investment law; Chinese public law and human rights; commercial law; comparative commercial law; corporate finance law; corporate securities law; fraud and financial crime; financial regulation and compliance; international and comparative tax law; Islamic business law; Islamic finance law; the law relating to financial transactions; up and international banking law; transnational criminal justice; the law of investigations.
Assessment by: examinations; essays; memorandums of advice.
