All applicants must: satisfy the interviewers of their aptitude for animal work; provide evidence of an up-to-date tetanus vaccination and provide adequate personal liability insurance; complete an examination on safe handling of animals. For those applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of an IELTS score of 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in each element) or equivalent.
Modules include: Fundamentals of business and professionalism; introduction to research; practical skills; animal handling and massage.
Assessment is by written examination, assignments, oral presentation and practical assessment.
