Curating

This course offers a postgraduate pathway for students who wish to develop their curatorial skills in 1 or more of the following areas: fine art; digital media; film and social history. Working with industry partners the course will offer students professional mentoring from staff in Bristol's museums, galleries and cultural spaces.

Entry requirements

Standard entry requirements including an Honours degree in a relevant subject area. Applicants with substantial relevant professional experience will also be considered. Work experience in the arts/museums/galleries sectors is desirable but not essential.

Course modules

Semester 1: curatorial histories; developing practice and audiences. Semester 2: professional practice: curating; curating and project management. Semester 3: final project.

Assessment methods

Each taught module is assessed by a written examination and coursework. Coursework may be in the form of a case study, study pack, poster or oral presentations.
