Robotics

This course is designed to provide students with a wide understanding of advanced robotics and automation systems. It is sufficiently general to give a broad background for a professional career in this area, whilst also providing the specialism necessary for a career as a researcher. It draws on the expertise of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL).

Entry requirements

1st degree of 2.1 or above in an engineering based subject from a UK university or equivalent. Applicants of particular interest are those with a mechanical or mechatronics background, although other engineering disciplines are considered on a case by case basis. International students are required to achieve an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in all bands.

Course modules

Modules include: electromechanical systems integration; intelligent and adaptive systems; robotics fundamentals; embedded programming; group project challenge; advanced dynamics and image processing and computer vision.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include the group project challenge.
