Designed specifically for those with non-standard, work-based experience, this course allows you to align your existing skills and competencies to develop your professional portfolio of evidence (for CEng). You may choose your own programme of study to meet your specific needs with modules mapped directly to UK-SPEC, enabling you to create your own bespoke MSc award. The programme enables you to identify the learning required for your personal development, in conjunction with advice from your employers (where relevant) to ensure the learning identified meets the capability requirements of your sponsoring organisation. The alignment of all modules within the programme to the UK-SPEC competencies, ensures skill gaps can be easily identified and filled through this study programme.
This course has been designed for those with both standard academic qualifications and those with non-standard, work-based experience. Applications will be assessed on an individual basis. You may have an Honours degree in mechanical enginerring, electrical engineering, physics or another engineering subject, normally 2.2 or above. Alternative combinations of qualifications and work experience will be considered. Applications from such candidates are strongly encouraged, as it is recognised there are any different routes through professional development, beyond a 1st degree.
Modules include: Professional development appraisal and continuous review; engineering project management; research methods. Optional modules include: Technical business operations; lean engineering; design project; simulation; leading change.
This course is usually assessed through coursework based on a case study exercise or actual projects in your organisation.
