This course has been designed for those with both standard academic qualifications and those with non-standard, work-based experience. Applications will be assessed on an individual basis. Applicants may have an Honours degree in mechanical enginerring, electrical engineering, physics or another engineering subject, normally 2.2 or above. Alternative combinations of qualifications and work experience will be considered. Applications from such candidates are strongly encouraged, as it is recognised there are any different routes through professional development, beyond a 1st degree.
Modules include: professional development appraisal and continuous review; engineering project management; research methods. Optional modules include: technical business operations; lean engineering; design project; simulation; leading change.
This course is usually assessed through coursework based on a case study exercise or actual projects in an organisation.
