This course enables you to develop a comprehensive and sophisticated understanding of a range of practical and theoretical approaches to contemporary musical materials, and of their historical and cultural contexts.
Applicants must have a UK 1st or 2nd class (2.1) UK Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification usually in Music, Music Technology, or a related arts discipline. Other qualifications and relevant professional or practical experience will be assessed on an individual basis. Applicants will be required to attend an interview. Entry criteria are subject to change. English language requirements: IELTS: 7 (min 6 in all areas); Pearson: 64 (51 in all subscores); BrunELT: 70% (min 60% in all areas).
Modules include: Locating practice; experimental music techniques; experimental music portfolio; major project.
Assessment is by presentations, written assignments, learning journals, a dissertation (MA) or practice-based project (MMus).
