Public Affairs and Lobbying
This programme provides both academic and practical training to assist students in pursuing a career in these exciting professions. Designed in conjunction with leading Public Affairs companies, the programme includes an integrated internship with a Public Affairs consultancy in either London or Brussels, which will provide graduates with significant advantages to pursue such a career. The course offers a unique combination of advanced academic knowledge and practical experience that will provide graduates with the opportunity to develop a career in public affairs.
An Honours degree (2.1 or above) or an equivalent overseas qualification. All shortlisted candidates are interviewed. English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5 (min 6 in all areas): TOEFL Paper test: 580 (TWE 4.5) PBT; TOEFL Internet test: 92 IBT (reading 20, listening 20, speaking 20, writing 20); Pearson: 58 (51 in all sub-scores); BrunELT: 65% (min 60% in all areas). Brunel also offers our own BrunELT English Test and accept a range of other language courses. We also have a range of pre-sessional English language courses, for students who do not meet these requirements, or who wish to improve their English.
Modules include: Internship and dissertation; parties and voters in the UK; influencing public policy: UK governance in transnational world; public policy and the challenges of diversity; marketing communications; international business ethics, governance and sustainability.
Assessment is by coursework and examinations.
