Digital Service Design

This course is designed to help graduates develop cutting-edge user experience design techniques for designing digital products and services. The course features close integration with leading digital companies to help you develop deep knowledge of both design theory and practice as well as to equip you for employment in the digital sector.

Entry requirements

A UK first or second class (2.1) Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification usually from an arts, design, social sciences, computer science or humanities background. Applicants with other qualifications with industrial experience (that is relevant to the subject area) may be considered and will assessed on an individual basis. Industrial certifications may be taken into account (such as those provided by organisations such as Microsoft and Sun for example). Such applicants may be required to attend an interview. English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5 (min 6 in all areas); TOEFL Paper test: 580 (TWE 4.5) PBT; TOEFL Internet test: 92 IBT (reading 20, listening 20, speaking 20, writing 20); Pearson: 58 (51 in all sub-scores); BrunELT: 65% (min 60% in all areas). Brunel also offers our own BrunELT English Test and accept a range of other language courses. We also have a range of pre-sessional English language courses, for students who do not meet these requirements, or who wish to improve their English.

Course modules

Modules include: Digital innovation; systems project management; ICTs and strategic change; data visualisation; digital design methodologies; digital service applications; dissertation (including research methods).
