The course will enable students to learn to become confident design engineers equipped with high quality and advanced knowledge and skills to work on design tasks in an advanced computer assisted environment and ability to gather useful knowledge on an engineering topic on their own when it is necessary as part of the task.
A UK 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification in engineering or appropriate science and technology discipline; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 6 (with at least 5.5 in writing, listening, reading and speaking); TOEFL paper-based test 550 (with at least 4 in the test of written English); TOEFL internet-based test 79 (with at least 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing); Pearson 51 (with at least 51 in all subscores); BrunELT 60% (with at least 55% in all areas).
Modules include: Sustainable design and manufacture; manufacturing systems and economics; computer aided engineering; computer aided engineering; dissertation. Optional modules: microprocessors and embedded systems; advanced manufacturing measurement; human factors in design; robotics and automation; design of mechatronic.
