This course is designed to address the challenges of modern Manufacturing and Enterprise Systems. It covers a breadth of subjects that enable candidates to appreciate and deal with complexities of modern industrial environments.
A UK 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification in an engineering, science or technology discipline; other subjects with relevant work experience will be assessed on an individual basis; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: ILETS 6 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all areas); TOEFL paper-based test 550 (with a minimum of 4 in the test of written English); TOEFL internet-based test 79 (with a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing); Pearson 51 (with a minimum of 51 in all subscores); or BrunELT 60 per cent (with a minimum of 55 per cent in all areas).
Modules include: Systems modelling and simulation; manufacturing systems and economics; sustainable design and manufacture; advanced manufacturing measurement; robotics and automation; computer aided engineering; dissertation. Optional modules: microprocessors and embedded systems; design of mechatronics systems; project management; quality management and reliability; global manufacturing.
Assessment is by a combination of assignments and examinations.
